According to a report by the Economic Daily, industry sources say that following Arizona, TSMC may launch a plan to build a second manufacturing campus in the United States, adding six more advanced wafer fabs, with Texas being the highly favored location, and the total estimated investment will exceed the 265 billion US dollars invested in Arizona.
TSMC has not yet responded to this matter.
Regarding the rumor that "TSMC will build new factories in Texas", a number of suppliers privately stated that they have heard peers mention it, but the company has not notified them to make preparations in advance.
TSMC's wafer manufacturing campus in Phoenix, Arizona currently has a total investment of up to 265 billion US dollars, and is planned to build a complete manufacturing cluster comprising six wafer fabs, two advanced packaging plants, and a research and development center.
Industry sources say that in response to the production demands of major clients including NVIDIA, Intel, AMD and Apple, as well as taking tariff policies into consideration, TSMC plans to build a second campus in the United States, with Dallas, Texas being the highly preferred location. Since subsequent factory construction will move on to more advanced process nodes, if TSMC launches the second US campus plan, the total estimated investment will exceed the 265 billion US dollars of the Arizona project.
